Go Vintage!

Back in Denmark with a bag full of inspiration! Madrid is awesome in many ways and its so much more than Sangria!

Interiorwise it really rocks and I have been shooting photos like a maniac and of cause I have been looking forward to share them with you! If you haven’t been to Madrid I recommend you to visit the city!

If you are into vintage, retro and second hand you´ll enter paradise! Its tasteful, fun, stylish and complete to details! But, what I also found was a awesome creativity within industrial design… in the next couple of posts I will show you my Madrid interior treasures and tips from accessories to shops and restaurants!

This is Libreria Cafe in Lavapiez – I had a huge Frappé with ice-cream and choco on top, recommendable 😉 The interior is really cozy, you just can’t resist jumping into the old leather couch and grab all the cool magazines, cuddle with the dog or relax with a coffee and your lap top! The wallpaper, the furnitures, the colors – it works so well together that even though this little cafe is packed with things it still feels very calm!

If you are into vintage clothes Malasana is heaven and the shops are very well decorated – I especially fell in love with the Flamingo Vintage Kilo – you can even shop online! The mix of materials, style and colors just make this room fun, cozy and indeed unique 😉 And Cuervo Store in Malasana with the used but still cool speakers-wall!

Madrid is a catch for antique hunters – check out all the cool shops in El Rastro , this shop is Barataria!

In short, Madrid is a must see if you are into interior design and for this post, vintage! Soon to come is Madrid from a more classy, modern and industrial angle!

Stay tuned and happy weekend everybody!! 🙂

xx Danielle

Weekend hunt and color ref!

I have always been a huge fan of petrol and the blue color palette! It gives the room a calm and warm atmosphere and even though we are heading towards brighter days, sun and lightness – you’ll never go wrong with this color! IF you are a color person 😉

For this weekend hunt I have browsed around wearing my “color glasses”, look what I found!

The confetti dinner ware is made by Alumnia and comes in different colors all named after Danish women, its vintage and upperclass antique, a bit pricy BUT really cool and up to date interior wise! I found this wonderful selection in Tante Tulis shop in Amager. The NotKnot pillow is from Luxo Living – I love the soft and dynamic shape and the grey color fits perfectly!

AND welcome to my kitchen – I want to show you how the color can add a cozy and warm atmosphere! Do you agree? I am in the process of finding a new light source in the kitchen. I really love my chandelier but I´ve had it for years and I want some changes – a new look! BUT I am on a budget! I have an idea that I want a selection of longarmed-wall-lamps and maybe in combination with this cool and VERY cheap one from IKEA only DKK 79! I want to add a hard material to the soft wall and I think the Aluminum material is quite good!

A little selection from Tante Tuli that brings the color up front! The vase must be next investment, if you are nearby Copenhagen visit Tante Tuli its worth it 🙂

BETTER LATE THAN EVER, right 😉 My obsession with shower curtains just doesn’t stop so this Weekend Hunt goes for the bathroom! I simply love when people decor their bathroom, so it becomes an adventure to sit there… haha, I mean you spent so much in that room, so why not make it an experience to visit! How many of your friends have a white, boring and “interior-design-neglected” bathroom? It doesn’t make sense to me that so many people have the most beautiful decorated house except from the bathroom – I mean it must be the place where you’re guests have time to really think about and notice all the interior details in your home! So, what I´ve been looking for today is accessories for your vintage mix´n modern bathroom – And I actually think Ive found some fab treasures, of cause 😉

Lets start of with the shower curtains..hmmm! Only 68USD from Society6! Gotta say I have a huge crush on old VW cars!

Next stop is Amager, Denmark – I have found a mix of accessories all from Tante Tulis that never was in the bathroom, but I think that is reason enough to get it in there! These old tin cans are a great storage option for all the small ugly pieces that we use in the bathroom – the alarm clock is just cool and adds an atmosphere of history and coziness! Who said bathroom  aren’t cozy? I don’t know about you but I have read the majority of my most dusty scientific literature in the bathroom – in peace and silence! Next favorite is the old industrial metal bucket, DKK 450! You can use it, if not on the bathroom, then maybe in the living room for nice magazines, books and a plaid! But I would love it in my bathroom for towels!

More decor! I am not really on the “letter-wave” but these copper letters from Leben Cph are really cool and I think they would fit perfectly in a vintage bathroom! They are a bit pricy DKK 2250, but I have found a cheaper option at Etsy.com – ONLY DKK 17!!!!

OH, can’t stop – just went by Etsy and found this storage and lamp perfect for the vintage, industrial bathroom! Cheap and so cool! The lamp is only DKK 195! Check out the pulling detail, LOVE IT! The storage is made of wood from the 1920´s DKK 970 – both of them ´ALERT´ pieces!

If you haven’t read my weekend hunt before I go for unique vintage treasures and modern  pieces that will make a perfect match! My mission is to find stuff you can’t get in the local mall or main-design-store! – Please let me know if you know of a certain place, that I should check out :)

Share, like and follow Interiorwise – its a great honor to hunt for stuff that can inspire you to change your surroundings!

This third Weekend Hunt is a bit different from the two first – Its still a mix of vintage and new interior pieces but since its payday and the sale has gone crazy I´ve added more new sale-treasures this time! The good thing is that they do have more than one for sale!

If you haven’t read my weekend hunt before I go for unique vintage treasures and modern  pieces that will make a perfect match! My mission is to find stuff you can’t get in the local mall or main-design-store! – Please let me know if you know of a certain place, that I should check out :)

THESE chairs are so cool, I remember them from my time in school – I think the design is a great mix of vintage and modern! And why not either paint the chairs and combine them with a lightweight table, I would prefer black or industrial OR another option could be as shown on the photo combine the wooden chairs with a sparkling colored table! You can get all 6 chairs for 800 DKK at Tingfinderdesign.

Now for the accessories! First of all I felt for this little cabinet from an abandoned silverware factory in New York, it would add an excellent edgy detail to your kitchen, bathroom or maybe office! Its an ´ALERT´piece and its only DKK 100!! Also with a touch of industrial – a functional magnetic chalkboard DKK 299!

The rough edge of the little cabinet will soften in a perfect combination with a plaid in black´n pink – its cheap, its cool, its trendy and its suits the vintage furniture! Get it at Ellos , right now with 50 % – only DKK 149!

The match between styles and materials gives a perfect dynamic and lively expression to your home! I have chosen a mix of wood, color, soft textile and industrial – as long as you stick to your ´color palette´a mix of materials is a safe way to go!

#2 Weekend Interior Hunt!

This is my second weekend hunt post, for those who weren’t with me last weekend Ill do weekend posts on web hunt – Ill go for unique vintage treasures and modern  pieces that will make a perfect match! My mission is to find stuff you can’t get in the local mall or main-design-store! – Let me know if you know of a certain place, that I have to check out, I´d LOVE IT 🙂

Keep repeating myself, BUT to me the most interesting and exuberant interior design comes true when you mix styles and materials! Spice your new fab home up with a piece of vintage, up cycling treasures, original classic design – I promise you once you go vintage you’ll never go back 😉 !

´Be alert” means only one piece available or SALE – grab it right away!

Always start BIG – then go for accessories! So, lets check out this weekends cool furnitures!

I´ve been looking at this table made by an old door for a long time. I think its has a great look of both modern and vintage, that I simply love! You can get your own personal one made, in what ever color that might fit your style and personality! You can order it at Genbyg for 5500DKK (incl. door/filling/glass), but if you are a bit handy I think this is a wonderful DIY project for the Spring to come! Don’t you think?

I KNOW, industrial industrial … I can’t keep myself from it, as long as its NOT ONLY industrial I really like the edgy and rough look, a good idea is to mix it with a soft look like textiles or a bit more “heartwarming” prints, candles or vintage lightbulbs 😉 This old French bookshelf is so cool but a bit pricy DKK 9500 (and might be heavy) – and if you live in the States I think you´ll be able to find a similar one though not original old ones at Restoration Hardware   – same goes for the nice old ´doctor´ cupboard from the 40´s, its 5500DKK from No40  – check out their homepage, cause they do only have ´ ´ALERT´pieces!

And know for the accessories, heartwarming bits´n pieces in contrast to the rough furnitures!

Since I discovered Etsy I´ve had to myself in handcuffs – simply TOO much cool stuff at the same spot!

Check out the Eames inspired calendar print, It just makes me smile – lovely colors, heartwarming expression and even more heartwarming price 😉 DKK 150! AND EAMES vintage memory cards – aren’t they just cozy and decorative!?? There are several on sale for about DKK 60!

And all the way back to Denmark to Smukt Brugt vintage shop! Again industrial but this old spot from a train is really cool and it can be yours for DKK 700! And if you look closely at the poster photo and the table you´ll notice similar candlesticks – German nagel/ BMF! They are so cool and you can make and re-make as many times as you like and give it a new look! If you aren’t in Denmark check em out on Etsy, there have more!
