If you can’t live without them – include them in your interior design! I am talking about heaters, I hate heaters and I have never understood why they have to be so uninspiring and NON-decorative – until I discovered they DONT! Looking outside Denmark they actually do have more decorative heaters. In almost every flat or house in Denmark we´ve got these boring white ripped squares hanging on the wall. If you have one of them as I do my best advice is to paint them, include them in your look, make them an integrated part of the room. By painting them in the same color as the wall it integrates the heater in the wall and makes it less visible. Another option is to paint them in a different color that will pin it out and make it an visible decorative asset to the room. I really like this option and even more if you go all and and include the water pipes! Check Colorama the color producent awesome photos! And the best is, you can keep repainting whenever you like to change the look 🙂
If you are in the lucky situation that you can choose the design of your heater I would recommend you to take a look at these really decorative heaters! The bench is a Danish production from Hudevad the others can be find in the catalogue of heaters at ARCHI EXPO they have a wide range of really cool options that works both as heart warmer and eye candy!
I have a huge passion for funky ceilings! I am sick and tired of white ceilings – I have said it before and I say it again, the ceiling is as much a part of the room as the walls – why so afraid of doing something crazy!?
I know these stripy-options might be a bit over the edge for some people, but nevertheless I want to show you how including the ceiling in the interior design gives a complete look! AND I love to go aaaaaaall the way!
AND FOR THE CLASSIC – see the effect?
DONT BE SCARED TO GO CRAZY ON THE CEILING – YOU CAN ALWAYS RE-PAINT IT!

HAPPY OSCAR NIGHT 2014, the 86th Academy Award!
I am so excited cause this year I am going to the cinema to watch the entire show all night! I never managed to stay awake all night so this year I won’t let it happen, Ive packed a back of snacks, a sleeping back and a dear friend – its gonna be awesome!
Talking about the red carpet, do you dare red? There are so many opinions about the color red. Red is one of the four primary colors and according to experts its a very powerful color – not only because of its visibility but it also carries the property of appearing to be nearer than it is and therefore it grabs our attention first. The effect of red color is very physical – and if you believe in color theory – it is said that it stimulates us and raises the pulse rate. It can activate the “fight” instinct – I once read an article about colors where a research on the effect of colors were carried out on school children. One part of the school hall was painted red the other one blue and the conclusion was that the activity level was significant higher for the children in red surroundings than it was for the children in blue! But the color has two sides on one hand it is stimulating, lively and very friendly on the other it can be perceived as demanding and aggressive. Hmm, tricky tricky!Red is for those who dare take the change, do you? 🙂
Ive made an Oscar sample to show you how red color or red pieces of furniture can make your room look awesome and add a lively atmosphere! Do you agree??
Pieces of furnitures and interior accessories can really lighten up the room and add a liveliness not seen in any other colors – the contrast is so significant that it gives a daring touch! But why not go for the wall, the floor or the ceiling!!!?? 😉

HAPPY SUNDAY, HAPPY OSCAR NIGHT TO ALL OF YOU!
What is it about ceilings, why do they have to be SO white?? Since I was a kid I always wondered why everybody had white ceilings and colored walls, it seemed to me that the room was cut in two pieces and did not belong together! Or almost even worse if both walls and ceilings were painted white I felt like I got blind (in Denmark we call it snow-blind, does it make sense to you? 🙂 ). I did not understand why everybody loved to lay on the grass or at the beach looking up in the beautiful blue sky (maybe because it very seldom shows up in Denmark) but when we went inside and to lay in the bed we were all looking up at a white ceiling, drained from any kind of stimulation – just nothing! It did not make sense to me, and it still doesn’t – why are so many people so afraid of painting the ceiling?
Ive heard many arguments but the most usual is that if you paint the ceiling it gives the impression of falling down to your head – I see the point, but I DO NOT agree! As long as you consider the color and the rest of the interior, I am convinced that painting the ceiling will actually give the impression that it actually belongs the room!
The trend in Scandinavia is right now VERY WHITE and minimalistic but black ceilings are getting in, which I think is really cool!
I know its a bit of a jump if you are a real sucker for “Scandinavia interior style” and it will take a bit of daring to paint a ceiling black especially because most of us don’t live in spaces with lofty ceilings (which I think is the biggest concern) but I am sure, once you go black…!!!
Color experts actually say that a dark ceiling helps make a space feel more intimate! I know its a bit extreme to jump straight to black, but that was what I felt for today 😉 But I will come up with less radical changes in future posts on ceilings, paint and decoration, but try to consider it next time you look up … and let me know please!! 🙂
