…its a MARBLE-lous Sunday!

A Sunday kick to the marble addicts 🙂 Though I am more a color-kind-of- person I think these shower curtains could look awesome and fit perfectly into the industrial bathroom look!

… Hmm and a fish, just couldn’t let it slip away! 😉

HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYBODY! The sun is shining in Copenhagen!

#4 WEEKEND HUNT!

INTERIOR TREASURES BEYOND BORDERS!!!

BETTER LATE THAN EVER, right 😉 My obsession with shower curtains just doesn’t stop so this Weekend Hunt goes for the bathroom! I simply love when people decor their bathroom, so it becomes an adventure to sit there… haha, I mean you spent so much in that room, so why not make it an experience to visit! How many of your friends have a white, boring and “interior-design-neglected” bathroom? It doesn’t make sense to me that so many people have the most beautiful decorated house except from the bathroom – I mean it must be the place where you’re guests have time to really think about and notice all the interior details in your home! So, what I´ve been looking for today is accessories for your vintage mix´n modern bathroom – And I actually think Ive found some fab treasures, of cause 😉

Lets start of with the shower curtains..hmmm! Only 68USD from Society6! Gotta say I have a huge crush on old VW cars!

Next stop is Amager, Denmark – I have found a mix of accessories all from Tante Tulis that never was in the bathroom, but I think that is reason enough to get it in there! These old tin cans are a great storage option for all the small ugly pieces that we use in the bathroom – the alarm clock is just cool and adds an atmosphere of history and coziness! Who said bathroom  aren’t cozy? I don’t know about you but I have read the majority of my most dusty scientific literature in the bathroom – in peace and silence! Next favorite is the old industrial metal bucket, DKK 450! You can use it, if not on the bathroom, then maybe in the living room for nice magazines, books and a plaid! But I would love it in my bathroom for towels!

More decor! I am not really on the “letter-wave” but these copper letters from Leben Cph are really cool and I think they would fit perfectly in a vintage bathroom! They are a bit pricy DKK 2250, but I have found a cheaper option at Etsy.com – ONLY DKK 17!!!!

OH, can’t stop – just went by Etsy and found this storage and lamp perfect for the vintage, industrial bathroom! Cheap and so cool! The lamp is only DKK 195! Check out the pulling detail, LOVE IT! The storage is made of wood from the 1920´s DKK 970 – both of them ´ALERT´ pieces!

If you haven’t read my weekend hunt before I go for unique vintage treasures and modern  pieces that will make a perfect match! My mission is to find stuff you can’t get in the local mall or main-design-store! – Please let me know if you know of a certain place, that I should check out :)

HAPPY SATURDAY NIGHT!!!

Share, like and follow Interiorwise – its a great honor to hunt for stuff that can inspire you to change your surroundings!

FRIDAY – Kicks off the color SHOWER!

If you haven´t noticed I am a sucker for showercurtains, if it was´nt for my beloved Egyptian boat I would immediately order one from Society6! I consider if it would´nt be genius to have at least two – I mean with these curtains its like getting a entire new look for 68 USD!  Ill leave the craziness for the weekend, but I think you should have a tiny color-injection to kick off your weekend and maybe end your work-week!

Take it out on your wall!

Today’s material – TILES!

The next couple of days, as promised, my focus will be on wall deco. Walls are a the frame of the interior playground but I believe the whole frame, whether walls, ceiling or floor should be included in the interior design to make a complete expression – you simply cant neglect the frame – there is no scene without a frame, its like a book with no words – so TAKE IT OUT ON YOUR WALL!

I love tiles – they add an edge to the room, a mix of materials, tiles, wallpaper, paint, wood etc. makes the room dynamic and alive! Personally my heart beats for the funkiest ones, but in the right mix – combined with plain surfaces, they become more modern and classic!

There are no limits in the use of tiles – we have passed the time where tiles only belong to the kitchen and the bathroom! Give your room a makeover – you don’t need to make a whole wall, just a couple of tiles will add an edge and bring it to life!

First, Ill show the famous artilles – I know its “old news”, but I still think they sticks!

I actually used artilles (from http://www.arttiles.dk) for a project at Saint Martins College of Art. The project was to design a bathroom for a couple living in the high end of London. Based on a description of their personal profiles, I decided to make a mixed-style bathroom with a funky but classic touch – my main colors were black, gold and petrol! Since the couple had met each other in London I wanted to include that fact in the interior design, to give it a personal touch without being a cliché! SO, stick to the wall – i drew a wall made by small black mosaic tiles and art tiles in petrol, black, white colors – the art tiles formed a skinny version of London Tower Bridge! Get inspired by something you love, something that makes you happy looking at and create your own personal wall art!

These ones are awesome and I haven’t seen them used anywhere in Denmark, thats a shame! I have a billion of ideas how to create the most funky bubble-room, but again if you mix materials and surfaces the bubble tiles can be quite classic as well – if you are into classic style go for clean surfaces, same color shades but different materials! Go bubblicious!

MORE FUNK! Can you imagine a whole wall of these – psychedelic maybe, but funk to perfection! These tiles are described

“Tiles of Playfulness Synergy of Light Colors, Impressionism and Tiles”!

If you can’t bare starring at your white tiles like me – go get some paint and make your own artwork! This one is made by Diva artworks http://www.divaartworks.com/Tiles.html , but why not do it yourself!

LAST BUT NOT LEAST! As much as I love the funky, crazy stuff I am totally amazed by gold and copper, and I can easily imagine myself in a room covered up in steel tiles – ITS SO CLASSY!!!!!!!

GO CRAZY ON YOUR WALLS – the next couple of days you’ll get more on wall deco, stay tuned and happy decorating!

A cheap way to transform your bathroom!

Here comes the recipe to transform your bathroom!

I have billions of ideas, so don’t hesitate to contact me, Ill be happy to share them with you! So, this is just one solution, cheap, fast and easy!!

1. Buy a roll of shelf liner in whatever color or pattern you like – you can get it very cheap! In Denmark you can get in Tiger shops for about 30DKK.

2. Measure the tiles and use a pencil to draw the exact same size on the back of the liner.

3. Cut all the squares and stick them on the tiles

!! Watch out for bubbles, they are quite annoying. To avoid them start of in the corner and make sure you erase all the bubbles while you slowly stick it to the tile. Don’t remove the backside of the shelf liner all at once, do it while you stick it to the tile

MIRROR MIRROR ON THE WALL! Why the h… do YOU look like that!?

To transform your dead boring mirror, which comes with all the flats, buy an old wooden photo frame, cut it up, so it matches the size of the mirror and stick it directly to the mirror using double-sided-tape – easy!

As you see I chose to paint the frame black and because I couldn’t find a frame in a size matching the mirror I decided to make a golden frame around the wooden frame! Again, thank God for sticker paper! Cheap and easy, and it matches the shower curtain and the gold painted prism perfectly!

Magic dust doesn’t have to be expensive!
